“Game for change – Digital Serious Game – educational tool for strengthening community resilience”

The project “Game for change – Digital Serious Game – educational tool for strengthening community resilience” – use gamification in education as an innovative didactical tool for educating in the modern learning environment.

“Gamification” is defined as the application of typical elements of game playing to other areas of activity, specifically to engage users in problem solving. It has been used in marketing, training but also has wide applications in education. Gamification encourages students to perform an action and is one of the most popular and preferred trends of learning amongst students, globally. Games help in situated learning or, to put in simple words, learning that occurs through immersive experiences.

With the project, we will produce digital Serious Game as an educational and training tool for teachers, youth workers and youth to tackle an immense social and economic issue, which is the radicalization of youth resulting in extremism, violence and terrorism.

The target groups (or direct beneficiaries) are as following:

  • High schools (in 5 municipalities: Cair, Tetovo, Gostivar, Struga and Kumanovo)
  • Teachers
  • Students
  • CSOs representatives and youth workers

Center for Social Innovation BLINK 42-21 from August 2019 started to implement the project “Game for Change – Digital Serious Game – educational tool for strengthening community resilience”,  Grant Agreement no. HED / ADM / GRC / 2019/0017 from 28/05/2019 with the Hedayah Center for Excellence. The project duration is 12 months and is financially supported by the STRIVE Global Program of the European Union. Part of the project’s activities is assessment of the use of gemification as an educational tool to prevent radicalization leading to violent extremism for which we published this Call for engagement of experts.
